Coffee Cat

There's a new coffee shop in town and it takes the form of a cat!

August 22, 2010. It was a Sunday and a perfect day for some java so I texted my best friend and fellow coffee fanatic. I told him about this place I saw the other day in IT Park.

ordered their Mocha Chip Avalanche. The Avalanche is their version of the Frapp. It's 135PHP. Prices are basically the same as Starbucks. Maybe ten pesos cheaper. But what about the taste?

Hmm... Sadly, it's not as good as I expected it to be. Their coffee lacked that bold taste that I love. It tasted like it was either diluted in too much water or they used too much sugar. Maybe if you're the type who fancies coffee drinks but not really a coffee fan, you'd love it here. As for me, I'd stay away from the Avalanche and maybe opt for the Americano.

They also sell Yogo frozen yogurt. You can pick your toppings. They have fruits, chocolate and a lot more.

Coffee Cat's ambiance is very modern. Sleek and pretty clinical with its white walls, steel counters and ultra-chic chairs. It's a sight out of a magazine. For their interior alone, they get five stars!

The baristas are very friendly. If you're a regular, they remember your name.

This is a potential hang out place after a night out or a good place to study. They have free WIFI. Yehey!

I give Coffee Cat a 4 out of 5.

Coffee Cat is located at the eBloc (JP Morgan building) at IT Park, Lahug.

It's been a month now since I updated this site. I guess there goes my idea of building traffic for this baby.

I have been so busy with work and school that I hardly have time for my thoughts. I have been spending most of my time reading and studying - taking every opportunity I have to cram legal knowledge into my head. I even study in public transit. Good thing my training class graduated two weeks ago. Everything will be better now... till my next new hire class in September.

Tomorrow is the start of mid terms week and I can't help but feel anxious and glad at the same time. Questions linger in my head whether I am studying hard enough or not. Passing my prelim exams is one thing. Passing the mid terms is another. Fortunately, my boss, Ivah gave me her blessings to be on a one-week leave from work (Yipee!).

Well, I'll keep you updated. Wish me luck!
